Arnold Schwarzenegger - The Graham Norton Show
In this clip men are presented in a variety of ways. The host, Graham Norton, is represented as a more feminine character in regards to the more dominant representation of men. This is suggested in the way Graham Norton is so open with his sexuality and how he makes comedic jokes in regards to his sexuality. Furthermore, he challenges the dominant ideologies by his high pitched voice and camp persona, this is shown at 2:21 when he points to a picture of a man stretching in a more revealing pose. This refers to Tessa Perkins theory of stereotypes being positive or partly true.
On the other hand, men are also represented in a masculine more muscular way. This is shown through the use of having pictures of Arnold Schwarzenegger flexing his muscles. This reinforces the dominant representation of men as it shows them as being capable of protecting the things they love. This refers to Andy Medhurst's theories of shorthand but carries value judgement.
